Tobio Kageyama is one of the most popular Haikyu !! Characters and everything Haikyū !! Fans must be curious to know more about him. Volleyball fans are fans of this series and love it. Tobio is one of the most intricate characters in Haikyuu, and if you want to learn some fascinating facts about him, we’ve got you covered in this post. Tobio Kageyama is the Haikyū !! Deuteragonist of the series. He was a freshman at Karasuno High School and the starting setter for the men’s volleyball club for most of the series.

During his freshman year of high school, he was selected to train at the All-Japan youth training camp and joined the V League as soon as he graduated. At the age of 19, he joined the Japan national volleyball team and competed in the 2016 Rio Olympics. He was a setter for Schweiden Adlers of Division 1 of the Japanese V-League in November 2018. He is now part of Ali Roma, a professional team from the Italian Serie A.

Kageyama’s height and sharp gaze are believed to be his most striking physical characteristics and a source of fascination for some female students. It has a slim and muscular build. His terrifying demeanor is enhanced by his practically perpetual scowl. Kageyama was an obsessive perfectionist who only cared about winning and completely ignored the ideas and well-being of his colleagues. He was perpetually grumpy, haughty, and clearly short-tempered. His tendency to complain about his performance and shout orders at them earned him the nickname “King of the Court” among Kitagawa Daiichi’s players, a continual reminder of his oppressive and selfish attitude during his high school volleyball career.

1. King of the court

Kageyama’s high school teammates have given him the nickname “King of the Court”. They call him that for his greed and authoritarian tendencies. In reality, he and his comrades Kitagawa Daichi are separated by an inordinate amount of space. No player on the roster will reach Kageyama’s full potential as a setter. To achieve this, Kageyama requires a fantastic attacker or someone who is above average.

2. On the court, Asahi Azumane’s concerns

The Karasuno High players attempt to bolster their roster by bringing back their “ace” attacker and stellar defensive libero after nearly defeating Aoba Johsai in a practice match. It is not known why these two players stopped playing, but it was reported that the team’s ace, Asahi Azumane, was completely blocked in a match against Date Tech. He eventually left because he believed he had lost the game for his team, and This attitude encourages Yu Nishinoya, the libero, to do the same. On the court, Kageyama’s mindset changed when his high school team refused to hit his sets in protest of his despotic behavior, and he was benched. With Hinata’s help, Kageyama uses this experience to empathize with Asahi, and they eventually bring Asahi and Nishinoya back to the team.

3. Having identity problems as a player

Kageyama practices alongside and against several of his country’s best high school volleyball players during his time at the All-Japan Youth Camp, which provides a fantastic opportunity for improvement but also questions his opinions on how the game is played. When Atsumu Miya refers to Kageyama as a “good boy”, the former “King” is stumped. However, as the camp draws to a close, he realizes that it is because his style of play has become much more flexible and accommodating than his previous uncompromising attitude. You lose track of your gamer identity while these ideas are spinning in your head, due to your tendency to overanalyze your judgments.

4. I am not an animal lover

Kageyama is known for making sarcastic comments to Hinata and Tsukishima, but he actually respects them. When Kageyama is chatting with Hitoka Yachi, Karasuno’s manager, he becomes friendly. Unfortunately, because Kageyama’s face makes him look hostile, everyone, including animals, is afraid to talk to him. Animals, according to Kageyama, tend to stay away from him. Perhaps the animal is frightened by its appearance.

5. Go back to your “King” appearance

Following his experience at the All-Japan Youth Camp, Kageyama weighs his personal beliefs against his desire to play his position the way his teammates prefer. This ambivalence reaches a boiling point during Karasuno High’s practice match against Date Tech, a defensive powerhouse. Kageyama adapts to the preferences of his attackers, but is angry that they can’t score when they do things “their way.” Instead of communicating and attempting a strategic change, Kageyama remains speechless for fear of upsetting his troops. Eventually he breaks down and becomes unhappy and worried that by acting like a “King” he has ruined his connection with his teammates. His crew, on the other hand, are unaffected by his tirades as they trust him and may fire them if they disagree. Coach Ukai walks in and says that while Kageyama needs to accommodate his team, he should also speak up if he feels there are better options.
