The rising star died three months ago on July 4 at the age of 23.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner confirmed the cause of death to AND! News. Authorities say the manner of his death was considered an accident.
Daniel is best known for his role on the television series Mani, as well as the independent horror film The Killer Clown Meets the Candy Man.
Her sister, model Meredith Mickelson, confirmed her death at the time of her passing in a moving tribute posted on Instagram.
Along with a series of flashbacks, she wrote at the time: “My heart is shattered and writing this feels so bad and I don’t even know what to say.
“Yesterday I lost my brother, best friend and the other half of my heart. There was not one person I loved more on this earth. There are no words that can do him justice that I can write.”
The 22-year-old concluded her post: “To know him was to love him. He was the happiest and most radiant human being in existence and I am so happy that God has chosen me to be his sister throughout his amazing life.”
His death shocked the industry, and many stars sent messages of condolence in the mail.
“Praying for you,” wrote Jordyn Woods, while Amelia Hamlin said, “I will love you forever, Daniel.”
Model Kaia Gerber also used her Instagram Stories at the time to post a screenshot of a FaceTime call she had with Daniel.
Along with him, she wrote: “I remember that time we sat on the couch and spent the whole day inventing our own secret language that we kept talking every time we saw each other.
“I wish we could go back there. I wish we were still speaking in phrases that probably annoyed everyone else but made us laugh every time.
“I wish I was still sitting on the floor in my bathroom because that was the only place I had wifi and I never wanted to miss a call from you.

“Thank you for being the reason for so much laughter and happiness in the world. It won’t be the same without you here. I love you Daniel.”
Daniel’s girlfriend posted a heartfelt tribute, which read: “You lit up every room with your infectious smile and never stopped making anyone happy.
“There wasn’t a single day that you didn’t go out of your way to make me feel special and loved.
“I’m not sure how I’m going to get through this, but I’m going to be strong for you because I know what you would have wanted. Everything I do now is for you.”
