Covid tests that forced The View hosts to leave midway through the live show were false positives

The Covid tests that forced The View hosts Ana Navarro and Sunny Hostin to leave in the middle of a live show before Vice President Kamala Harris arrived were false positives, it has been discovered.

Co-hosts Ana Navarro and Sunny Hostin were kicked out of the live broadcast on Friday morning after returning positive results at the 11th hour.

The explosive news caused chaos on the show’s set and forced Harris to delay his interview, which was eventually conducted via a video link from another room at ABC’s studios in New York.

But it has since emerged that the results were false positives after Navarro and Hostin tested negative on antigen and PCR tests taken as soon as they were taken off the air.

The co-hosts seemed stunned when they received the news ahead of the highly anticipated interview.

The pair were dramatically ordered to leave the set seconds before Harris stepped out in front of a live audience, leaving the producers scrambling.

Navarro, who only co-hosts the show a few times a week, told CNN’s Anderson Cooper on Friday night that he is “tested weekly” and that he tested negative after the broadcast.

“It suddenly became an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm,” he told Cooper.

She told Cooper that she and Hostin were taken to their dressing rooms where they received an antigen and a PCR test and had to wait there until they got the results.

Navarro declined to reveal Hostin’s results, but revealed that his original test was a “false positive.”

Hostin and Navarro had been sitting on stage alongside co-hosts Joy Behar and Sunny Hostin shortly after 10 a.m. Friday as they prepared to greet Harris at their table.

But the performance was dramatically interrupted by showrunner Teta, who yelled for Hostin and Navarro to leave the room, leaving Behar to explain to the audience what had happened.

Sunny and Ana apparently tested positive for COVID. No matter how hard we try, these things happen. ”

“They probably have a major case and they will both be fine, I’m sure, because they are both vaccinated.”

His sudden departure left Behar and Haines struggling to fill up air time. The couple spent several minutes answering questions from viewers in scenes described by one columnist as “an absolute disaster.”

Harris eventually settled into a back room and conducted a shortened interview with Behar and Haines remotely.

A spokesperson for the vice president’s office told DailyMail.com: ‘The vice president had no contact with the presenters prior to the show. Your schedule today [on Friday] will continue as planned. ‘

Meanwhile, on Saturday, an ABC insider accused The View of ‘monumental failure’ after the two co-hosts were removed from their chairs, claiming it was a ‘security risk’.

“This is a monumental failure on the part of showrunner Brian Teta,” ABC News’s Kim Goodwin and Disney’s Peter Rice, “the anonymous insider told DailyMail.com exclusively.

‘This is a national security risk. If Sunny and Ana had met Kamala, she would have been at risk. What an absolute waste of time. I doubt we can rehire her.

The ABC source says the broadcast error on Friday morning was indicative of the chaos occurring behind the scenes on the daytime show.

“It shows how badly managed the program is … Kim Goodwin and Peter Rice need to step in and take control of this program, as it really is a demonstration that they both have no control.”

Viewers were also horrified by the drama that unfolded live.

Vice President Harris is apparently waiting behind the scenes. Behar now answers questions from the audience. An absolute train wreck, ” The Hill columnist Joe Concha tweeted.

‘Two (vaccinated) presenters on @TheView were taken off stage during the show after testing positive for COVID-19, following their moralistic condemnation of the unvaccinated. It cannot be invented, ”wrote Madison Gesiotto Gilbert.

Tomi Lahren chimed in: ‘Wait, wait WHAT ?! These women at @TheView just finished preaching on COVID and health and safety and how bad the unvaccinated are and no shit on the commercial break. 2 of them have to leave because they have … wait … COVID! ‘

She added: ‘Well apparently the super cautious health ladies of @TheView may be the super spreaders they teach you about.’

It is unclear why the ABC COVID test results were received at hour 11. It is also unclear how often Hostin and Navarro were tested for the virus in recent days.
