A new trailer for Pokémon Legends: Arceus has been released, giving us another closer look at the game and even revealing a new Pokémon.
The new footage offers a deeper dive into some of the game’s menus and customization options, while also showing off new ways to catch Pokémon – did you see the moment the player throws a Poké Ball while riding in a Basculegion?
Towards the end of the clip, we also see the new Pokémon, Kleavor. This new Bug / Rock-type Pokémon is actually a new evolution for Scyther, weighing 196.2 pounds and standing 5’11 “tall.
Parts of her body have turned to stone
The special minerals found in the Hisui region make Scyther turn into this Pokémon. Parts of his body have been hardened to stone. Stone parts are often chipped during fierce battles, and Kleavor that have survived many battles will show larger splinters on their bodies. However, chipping actually makes these stone pieces sharper, increasing their cutting power. The Hisui people are said to have once used pieces of stone that had fallen from Kleavor to make tools.
He attacks with his ax-like arms
Even a casual strike from one of Kleavor’s large ax-shaped arms is capable of dealing a devastating blow and dealing massive damage to the toughest opponents. Kleavor uses his arms to carve symbols into tree trunks and even cut down trees to mark his territory. If you come across trees with marks made by a sharp blade or a row of trees cut in a criss-cross pattern, it could be Kleavor’s doing.
As you will see in the trailer, Kleavor is introduced as a Noble Pokémon. What is a Noble Pokémon, you ask? This is the answer:
Frenzy Noble Pokémon: A strange phenomenon is causing the nobles to suddenly go frantic, making them incredibly difficult to control. As part of the Inspection Corps, you will be called upon to quell the frenzy of the nobles.
