Samsung Starts Removing Ads From Its Android One UI Apps

As promised At the beginning of the year, Samsung will remove the ads from its own mobile applications. Starting today, you won’t see the company announce things to you on Samsung Pay, Weather, Theme, and Health. Reports of the change began to leak for the first time in Samsung Community Forum in South Korea, with 9to5Google and TizenHelp later discovering the publications. Engadget saw the change happen when we updated the software on one of our Galaxy Flip 3 review units.

Almost universally in all applications, you will no longer see banner ads. The only exception to this rule is Samsung Pay, where there is a section of the main interface dedicated to special offers, but that makes sense in the context of software. If you still see ads on your Samsung phone, it seems that you can perform the update by using the force stop feature in Android to manually restart the Payment, Weather, Health and Theme apps.
